Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
We Have Been Doing SEO for 15 Years
SEO is a foundational service that we excel in. Two out of the three owners of DLM have been doing SEO since they were teenagers, which at this point was a long time ago. We work through three main areas of optimization in order to dominate the results in your area: Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, and Backlinks.
Good Optimization Starts with Technical SEO
In order to have a website that ranks well you must have a strong foundation. This foundation is built by following technical components of SEO. When a client first comes on, we do a full website audit and page speed analysis. The purpose of the website audit is to determine any site errors or warnings. If there are errors, we will make sure to address them within the first month. After we address the initial site errors, we tackle the page speed audit and make any necessary changes to enhance the speed of the website. In most cases technical SEO is completed within the first 30 days of working with DLM. We have tools that continuously run if a new error or warning pops up or if page speed suddenly takes a hit.
How to Do Great On-Page SEO
How to Build Strong Backlinks
Off page SEO is primarily backlinking. We start by analyzing your current backlinks and we remove any negative ones. From there we make sure that you have the high authority and easy backlinks which are societal, educational, and local website links. We also put together a guest blog backlink strategy which we execute on a monthly basis.
What’s the Ongoing Strategy?
The ongoing strategy changes based on Google algorithm updates. There are more Google updates that come out now more than ever before. We are continuously researching and staying up with the trends in our industry so that we are not reacting to updates. The current strategy that we have in place for our clients is heavily focused on two primary areas: content and backlinks.
What Google is looking for now is continuously updated procedure page content. A good rule of thumb is that you should have more content than anybody else that’s ranking number one for that keyword. However, the content should provide value and it should be based around FAQs and LSI keywords.
On a monthly basis we update our client’s primary procedure pages with additional relevant content that supports keyword topics. The days of writing a certain number of blog posts are, for the most part, gone. So, if you keep asking for blog posts, stop. Focus your time on beefing up your primary procedure pages. It is a better use of time to spend creating intuitive procedure pages. Inside of DLMInsight we also offer a functionality in which you can answer FAQ’s whenever you have time. If you do not have time to do this, no worries. We do this on a monthly basis as part of the current SEO strategy. However, additional FAQ’s never hurt, unless you are Realself and you have Plastic Surgeons answer the same question 1000’s of times…ugh duplicate content.
The content strategy changes as often as Google’s algorithm changes. It is our job as a company to detect these changes in the algorithm and make sure that we are adjusting our client strategy promptly.
We also spend a significant amount of our time leveraging good backlinks to your website. We have developed countless relationships with medical-related websites where we have guest blog opportunities, as well as the ability to leverage sites in which we own. The first step to attacking a good backlink strategy is to make sure that your website doesn’t have poor backlinks. We do a manual audit to check for negative backlinks and, if in the event you have negative links, we submit these to Google for a disavow. From there, we build a monthly strategy in which we acquire new high domain authority backlinks that allow you to compete in the most competitive areas. The results of these backlinks acquired are displayed inside of your portal using DLMInsight.
